24 DAYS TO GO!!

Not that I'm counting or anything!!

So, we've been getting the dog used to the baby's things over the last few weeks. Moved the Moses Basket into our room, as the dog always comes round to my side of the bed in the morning, I wanted to get her used the fact that the area will be off limits for a while. Also put baby gate up between kitchen and living room, again, just to get her used to it. Her big face looks so sad!! Then I had her out the back with her lead attched to the three wheeler buggy. If anyone saw me, they would have thought I'd lost the plot - mind you that was nothing to DH and I passing back a teddy to each other, talking to it and giving it big kisses and cuddles, lol!! Poor dog looked at us like we were waiting on the men with the white coats, lol!! I'm sure she knows something is going - she just doesn't know what! She's great with the nephews, so we know she will be fine with the wee fella!

We hired a Rug Doctor and poor DH has been cleaning carpets all weekend! That makes two of us with sore backs now!!

Acupuncture was fantastic!! I could feel a difference in my back almost instantly. She told me my right side is most inflamed, it was definitely more tender when she was having a poke and prod!!

CLINIC APPOINTMENT - 36 WKS!!

Well - I'm totally confused now!! Saw the consultant today who was delighted to see baby had turned and cervix was clear. She seems to think the fibroid is far enough away not to cause a problem. So, we're back in two weeks time to see how we're getting on. If we want a c section, we can have one, but it's the recovery time etc that puts me off. However, my back is absolutely killing me now, I had to call the docs yesterday, I couldn't move one foot in front of the other, and got a precription for Co-codemol, which helps a wee bit.

So, made an appointment with my acupuncturist for Monday. She can help prepare the body for delivery, and hopefully do something for my back pain too!!

DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO?!?!?!?!

Well, had our scan today and the wee fella has turned with his head in position!! He's measuring almost 5lbs and is looking well! Not sure what to do now as the fibroid is clear of the cervix too (measuring 13 x 13 x 12 cm), but not sure how much this will stop the uterus contracting. We'll wait to see what the consultant says next Wednesday, but I kind of had my mind settled on the C section. Part of me wants the natural delivery for the recovery time etc, but the other part thinks, what if something went wrong and I laboured for hours, uterus not contracting and had to have an emergency section!?!

Totally confused now!! Anyway, sonographer done an internal scan to double check the cervix, and had to prod my belly to get the wee mans head out of the road - doing this she noticed he had hair!!

THREE WEEKS AND COUNTING!!

Well, had my mw appointment yesterday - bubs heartbeat, my urine and blood pressure all good - anyway, she was looking at my appointments and as I've got a scan next Tuesday and the clinic the following Wednesday, she said, I'll not bother making another appointment for you here - you'll probably get your C section date at the clinic appointment!!

Can't believe it - after six years of waiting - we could be looking at having our wee fella in our arms in three weeks time!! I couldn't stop smiling when I was driving home - must have looked like a right looney!!

Anyway - on another matter - my nephew has an audition tonight for a Scottish soap opera - so fingers crossed!!

SORRY - NOT BEEN ON FOR AGES!!!

It was DH and I's eighth wedding anniversary yesterday. He was running a course in Glasgow, so I met him after he finished and we went to Windows Restaraunt on West George Street for a lovely meal.

Wee fella is mega active these days - my tum keeps doing these Mexican Wave style moves!! Just bought him a Baby Bjorn sling on Ebay. Didn't want to spend £49 on a new one, as they seem to be pretty hit and miss with some babies just not liking them. I had fancied one for a wee while, then I saw a girl in Ikea with her baby in one, and thought - I'm having one of them!!

Watching this programme on CH4, it's about different methods for "Bringing up Baby" from the 50's, 60's and 70's - couldn't believe the 50's woman!! Plus, she doesn't have kids of her own - not sure how I feel about taking advice from someone who has never had children! The 60's was more suitable, but with a wee bit of the 50's feeding routine and a bit of the 70's cuddles. The 70's woman was just impractical. You're supposed to have the baby in bed with you and have them strapped to you in a papoose constantly for the first six months!! You can't possibly have a child stuck to you for 6 months, plus I felt so sorry for a woman who was having trouble breastfeeding, you could tell she was gutted!
