STILL NOT SUNK IN YET!!

On Saturday we got the best mail ever! We got our scan date through, 12 April, the day before my birthday, so here's hoping it's the best birthday ever, and an offer from the insurance company for a bump I was in nearly three years ago!! They offered £6000 and my lawyer is advising me to knock it back in the hope for more!! Woohoo!!

Saw Rhona for acupuncture yesterday. She was over the moon!! She's was all excited giving me a huge hug and stamping her feet like a wee kid!!

I still can't quite believe it, and I think once I've seen a scan with a heartbeat, it might sink in a wee bit, please God let there be a heartbeat....

Went over to Rebecca's yesterday, Suzy was there too. Both their wee babies are gorgeous, wee dolls. I had wanted to tell them my news to their face, but Rebecca guessed and asked me on the phone the other day, well didn't ask, told me, she said "you're pregnant aren't you?" and of course I couldn't deny it. Poor girl burst into tears, which started me off, lol! So, because Rebecca knew I called Suzy and gave her the news. When I walked into Rebecca's house yesterday they gave me huge hugs and couldn't stop smiling! (All these hugs are no good for my sore boobs btw)

Then today we got a beautiful bunch of flowers from them, with card saying how delighted they were with the news and what great parents we will be.

Only three weeks until scan......

HOLY CRAP, BFP!!!!!

I have waited so long to type this - we got a positive!!!!!!

Our test day was today, but I've actually been testing positive since Sunday!

Saturday night, I was convinced it was over again, I had a crampy back and tum, and even went to look for what was left of a bottle of Wallace we bought in Moffat, but DH had finished it (just as well I suppose). We had decided to test on Sunday, but the way I was feeling I was sure it would be a waste of time. Anyway, I've had really sore huge boobs, and have had to pee every morning for the past week at 5am. So up again for my 8am pee, and said to DH, not much point in testing I suppose, and he told me to do it anyway.

Imagine my face when I got back into bed and looked at the test - clear as anything - positive!

Passed it DH who stared, and then looked at it under the bedside lamp, passed it back to me, passed it back again....... This went on for some time with not a word spoken!!

Anyway, tested every morning with the line getting darker and darker, but too scared to believe it until it was confirmed by the GRI. When they phoned, they told us the HCG level was 467!! Could be twins!!!!

I know we need to be really cautious, but what the hell, we've waited over 5 years to see a positive pregnancy test, so we're going to enjoy the moment!

PS, poor Mary's IUI failed, really gutted for her, hope and pray she'll get her BFP soon.

PPS, Rebecca had a wee girl yesterday.

MOST HORRIFIC EMBRYO TRANSFER EVER

Same doc has done the last three, and has always found it a bit of fidgety job, so when I realised it was a dif doc yesterday, I was quite chuffed. (Don't want to name names - but it was the top banana!)

Anyway, I told doc that I've needed the longer speculum, as 1st doc said I had a long cervix, that was fine. After two attempts, two examinations, one including proding my belly at the same time, which almost made me pee, the doc asked the nurse for an implement. She handed it to doc, and came round to the side of the bed and took hold of my arm, stroked my arm and told me it might nip.

NIP holy cr*p!! Apparently it was pinching a bit of my skin out of the way to make it easier to get the catheter up!! Dh was holding one hand and the nurse was holding the other, with me repeating, oh god, oh god oh god!! Nurse asked how my bladder was, I told her it was full, so doc told me to go to the loo. Caught sight of myself in the mirror, I was totally purple!! So, same again when I went back, with doc apologising saying fourth time lucky, and, it's a bit barbaric!! Not so painful second time round, but still major discomfort.

So, two embies on board, and hopefully 2nd doc has done something 1st doc should have done, and I sincerely hope after all that (nearly 25 mins of poking and proding) we get our BFP!!
