BLOOD RESULTS ARE BACK

Well, just got a call from the consultant who done our Nuchal scan with our blood results. For my age (34), the odds of Downs are 1-464, I am 1-131, for Chromo translocation 13/14 the odds are 1-3712, I am 1-242. Apparently the chromo odds are quite good, borderline would have been 1-250.

The Dr was of course going on about CVS and amnio, but I know we don't want to go there. DH was totally upbeat converting the odds to percentages. At 1-131, Downs is 0.7%, so 99.3% chance everything is fine, and at 1-242, Chromo is 0.4%, so 99.6% chance of everything being fine.

I of course wept buckets when I came off the phone, and we've ended up booking a private Nuchal at the Nuffield. I've read of other girls on the fertility website having their NHS scan early, then getting better odds later with their private. The closer you leave it to the 13wks6day cut off, the clearer the odds are.

I read a girls post to DH about her 1-8 odds, then the 20wk scan showing everything to be perfect, he was even more adamant we were fine, and I do feel like a bit of a drama queen, but you can't help worrying can you?
